Position: SQA Lead (Full Time Contract-to-Hire)
Reports to: Head of Engineering/CTO
Location: Remote (Headquarters in Boston and San Francisco)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SQA Lead to establish and lead our Software Quality Assurance (SQA) program. This role will be instrumental in building our quality processes from the ground up, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure enterprise SaaS products, with a focus on AI/ML-driven features. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software testing, test automation, CI/CD, and experience working in or with the Life Sciences industry (preferred). Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and Implement the SQA Program: Define and implement SQA strategies, methodologies, processes, and standards for the organization.
- Test Strategy and Planning: Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various testing types (e.g., functional, integration, performance, security, usability).
- Test Automation: Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and scripts using appropriate tools and technologies.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- AI/ML Testing: Develop and execute testing strategies for AI/ML models and algorithms, including data quality assessment, model performance evaluation, and bias detection.
- Defect Management: Manage the defect tracking process, ensuring timely identification, reporting, and resolution of defects.
- Team Leadership (Potential Future Growth): As the team grows, provide mentorship and guidance to other QA team members (if applicable).
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, product management, compliance/validation and other stakeholders to ensure quality is built into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
- Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key quality metrics and report on testing progress and results to management.
- Tool Evaluation and Implementation: Evaluate and recommend appropriate testing tools and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards, especially if working with Life Sciences-related products.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear and concise documentation related to testing processes, test cases, and test results.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on test automation and CI/CD.
- Proven experience in setting up and implementing SQA programs from scratch.
- Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Experience testing enterprise SaaS applications.
- Familiarity with various testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the Life Sciences industry or other regulated industries (e.g., Healthcare, Finance).
- Experience testing AI/ML models and algorithms.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
